WELCOME TO BENEFITS

The Bonita Unified School District provides a comprehensive package of health benefits to employees working at least 20 hours per week. Eligible employees may enroll in medical, dental, vision, life and other voluntary insurance programs. New hires meet with the Benefits Technician in Human Resources to complete enrollment within 30 days of hire date. 
 
 
Benefits Rates and Coverage Summaries
 

 

Effective December 2023, the district  will provide a $1,400 tenthly benefits contribution (previously $1,300) which is prorated for part-time employees. To determine your cost your pay-check, simply sum your plan premiums and subtract your district contribution.

Voluntary Insurance Plans

Benefit eligible employees may also elect voluntary coverages such as disability cancer, accident, life, and critical illness insurance. Premiums are collected via payroll deduction on a tenthly basis. Employees with leftover fringe dollars may apply them towards the cost of an American Fidelity disability plan only. The District also partners with The Standard (CTA) and Nation Teachers Associates (NTA) to offer voluntary coverages. Click on each company to learn more. 
 

Flexible Spending and Dependent Care Accounts

CalPERS /CalSTRS Retirement
CalPERS and STRS plans are defined retirement benefit plans funded by employee contributions, employer contributions, and earnings made on investments. Eligible employees contribute a percentage of their salary, which accrues interest under their individual CalPERS/STRS account. For more information, please visit www.calpers.ca.gov (classified employees) or www.calstrs.com (certificated employees). These plans are not handled at a District level.

Supplemental Retirement Plan Options

Schools First Credit Union is the district's third-party administrator of 403(b), 457(b) and Roth IRA supplemental retirement plans. Employees can meet with a licensed retirement advisor to learn more about these options and enroll at any time.
